Watch – New Walmart Commercial Reunites “Mean Girls” cast for Black Friday Sales

The retail store stuns fans in a manner that’s so “fetch!”

Multinational retail store Walmart released an unexpected commercial to promote their Black Friday deals on YouTube. The promotional video features the cast of the original “Mean Girls” along with a couple of supporting cast members. This commercial beautifully acts as a sequel to the original movie.

Fans are shocked to see Lindsay Lohan reprise her role as Cady Heron, now grown-up and the guidance counselor of the same high school as the movie. “The Plastics'” Karen Smith and Gretchen Wieners, portrayed Amanda Seyfried and Lacy Chabert respectively, make an appearance. Cady’s male bestie, Damian (Daniel Franzese), and classmate Kevin Gnapoor (Rajiv Surendra) also receive screen time. Moreover, even performing artist, Missy Elliot, shows up as the school’s gym teacher.

The video already garnered over 150,000 views since its release at around 10 AM EST, which is great for Walmart which usually receives an average of around 10,000 views per video. Fans keep commenting on the nostalgic and grand nature of the commercial.

Youtube user, JessicaCardoso demonstrates the 2004 movie’s worldwide appeal and fame with her comment, “ICÔNICO ❤️.”

StraitJacket was left in awe, commenting, “This is INCREDIBLE. It has the feel of the movie to it and nothing was butchered. Everything was so faithful.

User, DaganRose, made note of the fantastic idea and quality of the commercial noting, “This was by far the best commercial I have seen in a while. Not just for Walmart, I mean like for anything. 😂

The high-quality and star-studded commercial has a similar feeling to a Super Bowl commercial where just a placement alone can cost upwards to $6.5 million. Funny enough, photos surfaced last month of the “Mean Girls” cast together which caused stirs rumors of a reunion Super Bowl ad. Although Walmart didn’t have to pay such a placement price, the company did spend money to get certain rights to the movie, hire and onboard the cast, hire other celebrities, contract the film crew, build sets, and much more. The budget for this expensive project must be massive. However, it’s nothing for the world’s largest retailer.

In fact, Walmart plans to release a commercial featuring the “Mean Girls” cast on every Wednesday leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This means that Walmart is putting down some serious cash for this campaign. Furthermore, it means that everybody gets more “Mean Girls” this holiday season.

Kudos to Walmart’s marketing for coming up with the idea for this collaboration of epic proportions. It’s too early to tell if Walmart will get a return on its investment. However, this commercial is a dream and a total win for fans and future fans of “Mean Girls” alike.
